CDS Framework Editor Overview
The CDS Framework editor is composed of several views.
All views can be moved around and re-sized by the user.
The explanations for each of these pieces correspond to the numbers within the figure at the bottom of this page.
-
Framework Navigator - By default, this can be found on the left side of the Eclipse window.
It displays all projects that are located within the current workspace.
If a project contains any systems, these systems will also be displayed as well as any components they contain.
-
Graphical Editor - This is the primary area for designing the security architecture for the system.
All items within a project's system can be placed, edited, and displayed here.
To view a system's underlying items (e.g. domains and shared resources) in the graphical editor, double click on the system in the Framework Navigator.
The system's items will be displayed in the Graphical Editor.
-
Tool Palette - This contains all of the items that can be used for creating the security architecture graphically.
The user can add items to the security architecture by clicking on the item in the Tool Palette and then clicking within the graphical editor in the desired location for that item.
Depending on the item selected, the user may be prompted to enter more information prior to its placement.
-
Properties View - This displays all of the properties of the currently selected item.
The properties displayed here can also be edited within this view.
-
Problem View - This view displays any warnings or errors that exist within the policy based on how it is currently drawn inside the graphical editor.
Note that if there are any errors in the security architecture, it will not get translated into SELinux security policy.
